Hi Howard,
I was able to get the PDF manual by letting
Adobe reader 8.0 download it. If I tried to get IE 7 to download it, I got
the same error message that you did. I have attached the file. You'll need
either openbook or K1000 to read it as the file is an image file and
contains no text.

Subject: looking for a radio manual

Looking for the manual for a radio I bought on Saturday, I googled to a
plase with an address of
http://www.usersmanualguide.com/icom/amateur__mobile_transceiver/ic-229h
.
Of course this includes the actual manual I'm looking for; and there is a
link to download the PDF file. When I try to download it, Internet Explorer
gives me a message something about no supported protocol or something. It
does the same for any manual on that site--and it looks like they have lots
of them.

What a great thing if it would only work. Ideas anyone?

Or does anyone happen to have this manual on hand? It's the Icom IC-229H,
two-meter transceiver.

Thanks lots.

: Anyone have any idea where I can find a manual for an icom 751a
: tranceiver? I found a pdf but jaws won't read it. From what I was
: told, if a document is scanned and then saved as a pdf, jaws won't read
: it. I tried openbook as well and no luck.

: Here is how I do it. Put on a good song with lots of good base. If
: they're not bass right, it will sound like you have more base on the left
: or right by themselves as opposed to both speakers. If they are wired
: right, you should hear an increase of bass when the balance is set to
: center.
