The ICOM 7000 cord is different.
I won't even work on the 706.

I've never seen an icom that didn't take the same one as the kenwoods, not
the 480 though, and alinco makes one too like that. Unless Icom has a radio
none of us know about, that can't be an icom cable, unless maybe the 7000
uses a different plug? I didn't think so, but I know for fact all the other
current models use the same 6 pin connector that Kenwood uses excluding the
480 and the alinco dx70 has.
