There are very few motherboards which will accept both ECC and non-ECC
memory (and never both at the same time). Most DDR ram is compatible with
slower speeds. If your motherboard states a preference for DDR PC-2100, it
will PROBABLY accept DDR PC-2700 and DDR PC-3200, but it is not guaranteed.
