since the motherboard (am2) can also support a quad core cpu, is it possible for a dual core i only need the 4 pin?
I GOT BIOSTAR TA770 A2+,,,,WITH A AMD ATHLON 64X2 DAUL CORE PROCESSOR(WINDSOR 3.2 GHZ NOT OVERCLOCKED),,,1 GIG DDR2 800.
AND I DID PUT THE 4 PIN CPU POWER IN IT ,BUT THE CPU SOCKET ON MOBO IS 8 PIN.
NOW IT IS RUNNING FINE, BUT ITS MY FIRST DAUL CORE CPU. NOW WOULD THE EXTRA 4 PINS BE FOR A QUAD CPU? AND MY DAUL IS SAFE WITH 4 PINS?
NOW IN MY UTILITY MONITOR IT SHOWS
CPU TEMP= 26C
CPU FAN= 3000 RPM
VCORE= 1.42 VOLTS
VBAT= 3.36 VOLTS
THEN NEXT TO VCORE, SHOWS A BATTERY LIKE VCORE BUT NO NAME, BUT HERE ARE THE VOLTS FOR THAT 3.3VOLT,12VOLT,5VOLT,AND 4.7VOLT
