Something that your friend might find worthwhile to
look into is Oil of Oregano. I suspect that there is
probably information on the use of Oil of Oregano for
things such a fibromyalgia being that Oil of Oregano
is becoming popular. I have just started using it
topically - a few drops rubbed on the skin. I am
using it for a long time sore throat and some chronic
soreness I have on my costal cartilage along my
sternum as well as some nail problems. I am not sure
how fibromyalgia would respond to it. I am using P-73
Wild Mediterranean Oil of Oregano. I am only
suggesting it here because I have been somewhat
impressed by it in the short time I have been using
it. You can also take it orally. (I found that it
irritates my stomach too much.) It may be that if a
Paleodiet is difficult that something like Oil of
Oregano could speed up improving the condition over
just diet alone.

As far as diet I would think that carbs in any form
(or excess protein in place of fat) would best be
avoided based on my dealing with muscle and joint
pain. I found coconut oil to be a good fat to use when
trying to increase fat intake.
