Regarding Alcohol, If self control is practiced one will take care not to be 
drunk.  One must learn self control in all things.  There is no evidence 
alcohol was any less potent in earlier times.  I think it wasn't because if 
one drinks mead which is a very old alcoholic beverage one would find it 
quite potent.  I can't see the Huns or Celtic peoples sitting around 
drinking a mild licker.  I had computer trouble and was off line for quite a 
while.  I am glad to be back with you all.  I have been wishing you all the 
best and have been praying for you all.
