I got to see Rick Warren on TV tonight. He was trying to explain why he has
all types of politicos and social activists coming to his big global
conference meeting. I won't try and transcribe the whole interview I saw
but he basically said, if they are pro choice but believe in a man and woman
only as husband and wife, or if a homosexual will come to dialogue on aids
even though he may disagree with them otherwise, he wants to reach out to
everybody. Wow, almost sounds like Jesus, don't it? Not so fast, there,
quick draw. Old Rick is speaking in political terms, not Biblical. It just
so happens, of course, the Bible crosses paths with his morals, at the
moment. I say, at the moment, because if you believe you can hang around
all such types of lost people without being effected, then God bless you and
you most certainly are a better man than I. I can hardly stand living in
the same hour with my daughter the way she lives. If there weren't children
involved that Sandy and I are responsible for, she wouldn't be living here.
But then old Rick is a best seller and I'm not so that makes a big
difference. Plus, he's a pastor of a huge church and I'm not. Finally,
I've been accused of being cynical more than once and so it shall be.

Phil.
