Strongly motivating encouragement by David A. Prince, UK.
So then, go on comforting and building up one another, as you have been doing. 1 Thessalonians 5; 11. Bible in basic English.
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind
word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act
of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life
around.
In this short reflection; I want to re-emphasize the importance of comforting one another, the necessity to encourage.
Even in our words, let us be an encouragement to one another. For so often harsh and negative words can kill and destroy. Often criticism can pull someone down instead of building someone up. Criticism is the negative which develops in a dark room!
Let us rather begin to focus on the positive and talk in a way that builds up and gives encouragement.
As the above words indicate; a kind word, a honest compliment can have the potential to turn a life around.
Be an encourager today and you will be surprised as to what you will reap, for in encouraging others you encourage yourself.
It is possible to give away and become richer! It is also possible to hold on too tightly and lose everything. Yes, the liberal man shall be rich! By watering others, he waters himself.
Proverbs 11:24-25
Dear Father, who wills our interdependence,
having gifts that differ, let us use them appropriately according to your will.
If prophesy, in proportion to one's faith. If service, diligently serving. If teaching, instructively teaching. If exhortation,
strongly motivating encouragement. If giving, with liberal and generous contributions. If giving aid, with zeal. If acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.
Great Giver, give your gifts to your people through your people. But let us always give you the glory! Praise to you, our Lord. It is in the name of Jesus, who shares all spiritual blessings with us, we ask for a growing love among all your people. Amen.
