Hi, here's a couple more GF resources that I missed on the first post
for Oak Island, NC:
One listmate had breakfast at a local diner called Mina's (grits and
eggs) with no problems. I didn't see
the diner when I was there and I couldn't find it on a web search, so
I'm not sure if it's still there or has
has closed. And there is a Dairy Queen on the island.
In Southport, Provisions is a restaurant on the docks that has fresh
local seafood, including steamed
shrimp. South of Southport are two local restaurants - the Purple
Onion and Duffers which
are reported to have great food.
In Myrtle Beach, there is an Outback Steakhouse, Fishbone Grill, and
Carrabas, as well as a Cracker
Barrel. Myrtle Beach is about an hour (45-50 miles) from Oak island.
By the way, if you go to Myrtle Beach, check out two golf courses,
Hawaiian Rumble and Hawaiian Village. The mini golf masters is played
at Hawaiian Rumble. Hawaiian Village is one of the toughest putt-putt
courses I've ever played.
Happy eating and putting!
Sue
