(1) Today, at 4:00 pm, was the filing deadline for most Michigan
offices up for election this year, including my own.

I am pleased and a little stunned to report that I have no opposition
this year, at least in the two major parties. That means I will
almost certainly be re-elected on November 4, 2008, to another
four-year term as county clerk and register of deeds.

(2) I have a whole set of the Political Graveyard alphabetical pages
up for testing and debugging, prior to replacing the now
far-out-of-date site. Some new formatting and features, and 40,000
additional people listed.

If that interests you, take a look, and let me know of any problems:
http://politicalgraveyard.com/testing

Note that internal (Political Graveyard) links on those pages won't
work, or will only point to equivalent pages on the "old" (current)
site. External links should work, though.
