Hello.
I think the irlp program would work on other systems but
I think to get any support from the irlp people you have to run what they
send you in the packaged software.
I can't remember for sure what node this was I was connected to but I did
have a discussion with a sysop that said he did not have any screen
connected to his linux box nor a keyboard and he used some kind of remote
software to access his system.
He was not a blind operater so I didn't go into much discussion about screen
readers or the layout of the programs he was using on his xp machine.
I think he used two different remote access software packages to make
changes to his linux box but I can't remember what the names of the software
was.
Maybe some one on here knows what I am talking about and can fill us in.
One of the software packages he used was for going into his system and
making changes to audio settings now that I think on it but again I don't
know what the other software package was and I can't remember what he did
with it.
kk4ql Tracy.

hello,
I am not about to ask the irlp people this but being a want to do this at
some point too, I'm wondering if the board they sell would work with
slackware or debian or something that has speech, i mean they say you have
to use what they send but, i don't see why you would absolutely have to, I
would be interested to know too about using slackware instead with the board
or, i may just say to heck with it and try it when the time comes
matt
