Tom,

Once you open the file in Adobe Acrobat Reader, press Control-P to print it. 
You will see a dialog asking for the name of the printer, and the default 
will be your printer.  Instead of choosing the default, press the down arrow 
until you see "Kessie Virtual Printer."  Then tab to Ok.  Kurzweil 1000 will 
open, and you'll hear the message that it is recognizing your file.  You'll 
hear this message once for each page, and when recognition is complete, you 
will have a text version which you can save.  At some point, you'll have to 
Alt-Tab back to Adobe and close it.
