The G5RV has been around for more than 60 years.

I had the privilege of going to a talk given by Lou some 20+ years ago in
which he explained the intimate working of his antenna in the correct form.
Over the years it has been modified for commercial convenience.

The antenna is not just the bits of wire, but a particular L C network for
resonating it on the ham bands.

The design was before coaxial cable was within the price range of amateurs.

I didn't realize the G5RV antenna had been around that long.  That's
