Wow!

What memories!

 I always wanted to build that 4 tube super heterodyne receiver that was 
shown in that book. I don't remember much about it other than it used plug 
in coils rather than a band switch.

During my last 9 weeks at our school, after I had been licensed for 2 years, 
my librarian said to me one day:


You aren't going to let your senior year go by without checking that book 
out, are you?"

I had discovered it when in the 6th grade, and had read it at least once 
every year afterward.

I don't know what happened to the Mississippi copy either.
