Typically, this would indicate a BIOS password. Removing the CMOS
battery for some period of time should reset the password. Some boards
have a jumper for this purpose.

Hello, I just bought a Dell Optiplex GX280 desktop tower from an auction
site and while it will power up to the set up menu, I am unable to
unlock it
so I can change the default boot sequence in order to load an operating
system from disc, any ideas? Thanks, Bob.K.
