Hi Tony,
Actually, Plextor at least makes a couple models of DVD drives that have
SATA interfaces (PX755SA, PX716SA).

You can use both. In fact, if you want to be able to use a CD Rom or a
DVD Rom, you will *have* to use both, as CD/DVD Rom drives don't come
with a Serial ATA interface (for the moment).
