Yes, it was the very first dual band mobile followed by or nearly
simultaneous introduction with the Kenwood tw4000a radio. I have one
but no speech board. It has a couple of broken switch faces on the
front panel. If the price were not so high for repair at yeasu I would
send it back for some tlc. The ft727rh as was a very good rig and took
quite a beating several times when it fell off my belt but kept working.
Thank you!

I think you are talking about the ft 727. I have a friend that has two
of
those thing still. A real brick. The best yeasu that I had was a
ft2700.
The voice board for it even read out the pl tones. and I think it was
the
first dual band mobile. A while back.

What was the first dual band ht that Yeasu had on the market? I did
have one of these and though a brick compared to the newer rigs, was
indeed nice. =20
Perhaps my favorite though a single bander was the tentec (2095) I
think. Ah that goes back a bit. =20
