The caller id info was interesting.  It seems you have to choose between 
name or number and I'd like something simple that gives both.  The one I'm 
currently using gives the number and as long as I don't have a brain freeze 
that works.  I too have heard that you can record the name that corresponds 
to a number but you shouldn't have to do that.  My moderately priced 
cordless phone shows name and number with no fuss.  Now if I could just 
manage to read the display.
