Right, the tuning is via up/down buttons.  It's actually like one long
button and you can tune in steps of 1 KHz by pressing on the ends of the
control.  There are also buttons for tuning up/down in 5 KHz steps in
shortwave or 10 KHz steps in AM mode.  I forget what the tuning steps are in
FM mode.  Storing and recalling memory is easy, setting the clock and alarms
is ... Well impossible.

It's my understanding that the sony 7600 and the 7600 gr have no tuning
