Try removing the modem from your device list and have Windows try to
recognize it again. I assume it is an internal modem. If so, you might also
try reseating it in the PCI slot in case the contact is intermittent. You
may also try communicating directly with the modem port using the Windows
Terminal program, or some other terminal emulator. If you get to this point
and need help on using a terminal emulator, send me an e-mail, or post to
the list.
Others may have specific experience with your error code.
