Subject: Prayer For Healing
I got the inspiration for writing this poem from one given to me some years
ago. I have always treasured it. May it be a blessing to others. Sheila
Killian
Prayer, For Healing
Let her go like the wings that soar, let her flow like the waves on the
seashore,
Take her broken spirit and let it live!
Take the pain and fear from her that she might give!
And LORD, let the words spill out of her and heal her; and heal others by
their wisdom and truth.
That she has borne a burden of shame and sorrow is true;
That she has suffered alone is also true;
and, LORD, if she ever forgot You or was angry with You, forgive her for she
is always yearning upwards for Thy light and Thy protection in this world of
human chaos! LORD, she is a special fragile bird to me, and she has a lot
of flying to do! Set her spirit free to soar in the heavens, singing Thy
praises! Free her from the hold of hellish earth! Let Thy sweet voice of
comfort wrap her in a soft blanket, and keep her! She is one of Thy dear
children, LORD, Take care of her!
let all be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted, and humble in
spirit; not returning evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving
a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you might
inherit a blessing." (I Peter 3: 7-9)
