David,

Sounds as though you have a similar story to a guy I once went out with . .
..

In brief: He fell in love with a young lady in her teens but she decided to
take someone else. He spent years in and out of relationships. One friend
of mine dated him for ten years but wouldn't marry him because she wanted
someone who could see properly. Anyway, I then went out with him for some
years . . .. (Skip a load!) God told me to tell him to go back to his home
church and look for a bride.) He didn't want to but did go and some time
later came back and said he was getting married. I went to the wedding and
actually it was quite an emotional time for me, wondering whether I'd done
the right thing, until his new wife came to talk to me at the reception.
She told me she had given him up for a man who was not a Christian, but her
first husband eventually died. Pat and Joe had then got together again, as
I described . . . some 35 or so years later! <SMILE>

Anyway, couldn't resist sharing that one and to say how very happy they have
both been in His service, despite various failures of life.

I pray this will be the same for you both and that God will bless you
richly.

Share more of your story when you can!
