Hi Carol and all!
Thank you for your understanding. I agree with you. I would also like to see
church members be more forthcoming with offering assistance. Sadly, though,
I've experienced a good deal of difficulty in this area. I have had, on a
number of occasions, hired other christians or members of my church who
worked out quite satisfactorily for a while. However, there often seemed to
be an underlying attitude that even though they were getting a paycheck this
wasn't a real job anyway. They really believed they were just performing
their christian duty helping me out by doing me this favor.
Blessings,
Sheila and Vinnie

: Yes, we had a very similar situation in a church once some years ago when
: asking if anyone wished to take on a paid cleaner's job for us. In
: response, we heard someone say "They need to go to Social Services", which
: was a sentiment to which almost all others appeared to agree. A dear 84
: year old around said she'd have gladly come to help us if her health had
: been good enough!
