Since I have not noticed a response from anyone else, I'll try to help.
I assume that when you installed the card you followed all the Netgear
installation procedures including configuration. However, the card is
not able to find any wireless networks.

I have 3 thoughts: 1)The new card could be DOA. 2)Depending on the
thicknesses and types of walls between the router and the wireless card,
50 feet could be too far to receive. 3)The configuration of the wireless
card may not compatible with your network. The first two are fairly
straightforward.

Having a laptop that works wirelessly with the network, I would
configure the new card to match the configuration of the laptop. One
thing I have found is that even though the new card instructions may
indicate to use their software to communicate with the network, letting
Windows handle the communication is less troublesome. Assumes you are
using Windows.

You might also give Network Magic a try. I believe it is still free for
30 days or so. It makes setting up and maintaining a LAN very easy.

I hope this helps. Let us know so others may be able to help as appropriate.
