----C:\WINDOWS\System32\ctfmon.exe. I keep taking the check mark off but when I turn it on the next
morning.. it's check marked again. What is that and why won't it stay UNCHECKED?

It's part of Office. You'll find all the answers here:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/282599
It's quite normal and harmless.
Like us, as it gets older, your computer will get slower. Possibly the
shutdown message has always been there, but as your computer ages and slows
down, you now get time to partly see the message. It's just XP doing its
normal shutdown procedure, no need to worry unless things slow down too
much. It will then be time for regular cleanup and restoration maintenance.
If you haven't reformatted the hard drive in 4 years, you're doing well if
it's still performing reasonably.

Thanks, Don, but after reading the above mentioned link, I do not have
Office loaded on here nor have I ever had it on here. This just started in the
past week. But since you said it's harmless, I wont worry about it then.
Harriet.
