I have sata on 2 hp media center pcs. I added a second drive to one a
year ago, I think it was a Western Digital drive and I needed to obtain
a second sata cable. Apparently, due to the small size of the
connector, Western Digital offers a more secure cable (WD Secure
Connect) with a larger connector that attaches to their drive. This
reduces problems with the cable coming loose due to vibration, etc. I
also see cables available with a small snap on clip to help secure it.
I'm not familar with sata1.
