The two Samsung modules should not give you any problems and, if they
are a match, you will get a minor performance benefit from them. If not
matched, you really will not miss it as the CPU, in your system, has
more of an effect on performance than matched memory.
Check your motherboard manual to make sure that matched memory is
automatically sensed. With the multitude of motherboards, you might have
to manually set a jumper on your MB or change a setting in your BIOS. If
there is a manual setting, I would start without a matched memory
configuration to assure myself that the memory worked OK. Then I would
try setting it for matched memory and see if there were any problems and
see if matched memory is acknowledged.
I hope this helps. If there is a problem, you can return the memory to
the present configuration and post again.

I have two Samsung pc2700 256Mb DDR memory modules; can I replace the existing module with these and expect to be problem-free? Or just put one in the empty slot? And, what disadvantage would follow if Dual Mode were not adopted?
