I was sitting here listening to a song on my computer, and i got to thinking 
about that thief.  This poem i wrote isn't that great... But nevertheless...

The Thief

I am a thief.
I've stole, robbed, and didn't care.
My life is about to end,
And what do i have to show for it?

I'm hanging on this cross,
I'm about to die.
But wait!
Who is this now?
Someone else has been hanged next to me.

He is unrecognizable,
He wears a crown of thorns.
His face looks like a blooddy pulp.
What could he have done?

I can't see the sign,
They've nailed above his head.
His face is drenched with sweat and tears,
But still he looks upwards.

Wait... i can read the sign if I look up,
it says, "king of the Jews."

Is this that Messiah they talk about?
Is this the one who heals?
Why is he being hanged between two thieves?
Between two criminals?

I look at him in bewilderment,
He's straining to even breathe.
If this man saves and heals,
Is there still hope for me?

I want to know,
 so i turn and ask,
Jesus, I want to know if you'd do me this one thing.

He looks at me,
with nothing but love in his eyes.
So i take a deep breath,
As best I can,
And i ask him to remember me,
in His kingdom,
Remember me.

Then He says,
these beautiful words to me.
He says he will remember me,
And I will even be in paradise with him soon!

I am nothing!
I'm a thief!
But I have been saved!

I now can take,
The mockery of the other thief,
Because I can finally,
Rest in the knowing,
That i am with my Savior!
And I will be forever in His kingdom!
