My ham experiences are largely rooted in cw.  I've always considered it 
a much more versatile mode of communications than say, phone.  The 
language barrier never presented obstables when working dx.  Also I've 
always cw as the preferrable mode for those with limited power and 
modest antennas.  

As an after thought, any need for the arrl to continue its w1aw cw 
transmissions?  After all, they've been pushing for the "no code" thing 
for years.
