I know that the dr600 and the dr605 and I was told that the dr610 all had
direct frequency input. I did not know that alinco had came out with a
newer radio. Well I won't be buying anything new from them.

Not all of them, these we have at the EOC are only about 4 or 5 years old
and they can't do direct entry, I know I've tried. I forget the numbers on
them right now but I know I checked so some may have it but these don't and
I know some one else with an alinco HT that doesn't have it. In fact, I have
a few friends with their HT's that don't same with the duel band mobiles.
Some may, but definitely not all. 1 local ham got one just a month ago that
has no direct entry, he was complaining about that in fact.
