Hi Walt,
You might look hard at the Eton E1XM for everything but air band. I have
one of these and it's a wonderful receiver and fairly accessible. Great on
SSB and the like with three bandwidth settings on AM and great sound.
Good luck and very 73.
Kevin :)

Subject: Suggestions for a good receiver
For years, I've had a Sony 2010 on the stand by my bed and have really
enjoyed it, but like all of us, it's not getting any younger and a few
things are starting to get a little shaky. What suggestions do you guys and
gals have for a replacement? I want AM/FM/air/general and ham coverage
through 30 KHz. Weather band would be nice (especially if it included the
alarm feature), but isn't a must-have. Portability really isn't a must-have,
either, as this radio has rarely, if ever, been carried around with me.
Battery and AC operation are necessary. While I can certainly arrange for an
add-on antenna, the radio should have fairly good built-in antennas. All
suggestions and comments will be sincerely appreciated.
