Hi Richard,

It strikes me that the firmware version is displayed when the radio is
turned on but it is a visual thing.  Not sure how often they have upgraded
the firmware.  I have never upgraded mine but suppose I should soon.  I am
going to run it mobile a bit and probably ought to have the latest upgrades
in it.

Just one final trivia question for the ts480 owners out there.  Tom went
through the procedure to update the software in the radio a few weeks ago. 
Is there an easy way to tell which version of the software the radio is
currently using?  How frequently has it been updated?
