Hi Danny,

I never owned the 2530 but I have owned the 3530.  The 3530 is the 220MHZ 
version of the 2530.  The rig is extremely accessible if you have the speech 
chip.  If this rig has the speech chip you are good to go.  In addition make 
sure the radio has the pl board.  Good luck.
