Hi Louis,

It really is quite stable.  It will tip if you put pressure on the front or 
back edges of the radio, but I never do that and have never had a problem 
with it.

I haven't done that with the TS480 yet, because that is a little longer 
radio and I think it might not be as stable.  But the TMG707 is a smaller 
profile and works well.
