Ya, it has an answering machine on it, I don't know what my mother 
paid for it but it wasn't much, maybe like $50 but it's a duel hand 
set phone so if you can find the single phone version of the same 
thing if that's what you want, you can probably save a little money 
on it. The answering machine even talks for a lot of things which is cool.
