Steve,  I got one from Ann Morris, which is now part of Independent living,
several years ago.  It's a triangular shape with a soft plastic  tube that
extends about a quarter inch out of the point of the triangle where the
sensor is.  This enables you to put it directly  on a light source and shut
out the surrounding light.  I haven't used it much with ham gear but it
works great on the audio boards at WKSb.  They have buttons with LED's on
them to convey the status.  I was quite concerned when they installed these
things but this particular sensor works extremely well with them.  I'll
check later today to see if they still have them.  Lou
