well, the door lock codes are probably changed when a guest leaves or
arives, which means the magnetic strip on the back of the card no longer
functions for that lock.
So, they code another card.
Meaning, that hotel keycards are throw aways.
I use a little peace of scotch tape on the outer left corner to tell which
way the card should be inserted....they always seem to have a roll of that
behind the front desk at hotels.
