Hi;
If you have the talking vcr it is probably worth your while to try and get 
it serviced rather than looking for a new preowned one which may also need 
work.

Well, the problem I have with my machine is that it is squeeking a lot
when tapes are being played, and rewinding and fast forwarding takes a
while.  I know you can get a VCR for peanuts now a days.  I actually have
both a VHS and a Betamax VCR.  The Beta though out of date by a long shot
has really impressed me, though it was just not marketed like it should
have been.
