Sorry, but I do not have to use the RIAA-approved blank CDs in my recorder. 
I use el cheapo data CDs and they work just fine.

Well, you can get a stand along cd recorder.  This is what I was talking
about.  The music industry stuck their nose in and had these made so you
have to use special more expensive blanks with a code on them.  So, even
if you're making your own recordings, they still get a royalty off of the
special music blanks.  By the way, Walt, still have the Morantz you clued
me in on.  This is a commercial unit that doesn't care what blanks you use
and you can turn off the copy bit.  Not so with most home units.
