I have to agree, if you're looking for a basic 2 meter HT, the THK2AT, or the one that runs on AA's would be a great choice. I got mine just before I came on vacation, used it a bit on vacation and it's very accessible. It's a lot like the TM-271A mobile which I now have 2, got 1 used for a great deal Wednesday which will be my new echolink link radio when I get around to setting that up and replacing the power cord on the radio. On ebay or used they're both very reasonable on prices and even new they are. I think I'll get another of those HT's for my go kit down the road, it's got a real solid feel.
