I have an Ampeg musical instrument amp that has a5y3 and a pair of 6l6's and
a couple of pre-amp tubes and a phase inverter. Had to replace the
rectafier and found a 5u4--does that thing run hot!

Somewhere in the pre-amp, I'm getting big-time microphonics. Would like to
replace those tubes, but they don't have standard numbers. They are octile
tubes with designations like EL 1885 and such.

Does anyone know what they might be, or what will replace them?

Thanks.

Howard
