I eagerly await the day that a scanner or at least software is made
availible that can decode provoice....the local city police have been using
provoice on their ericson edacs system for tactical ops..and clear voice
comms for most everything else.
It is still fine to listen to, since about 99 percent of the major calls and
operations are done on the clear voice talk groups...but when they are doing
hostage negosiations, or weapons complaints or gang/drug related tactical
ops, they switch to provoice...likely for safety of officers, as well as the
ability to keep those they are focusing on, from hearing their impending
doom.

It may well already be availible in software form using dos, or linux or
something....
