Chris,

Make sure you are in VFO mode by pressing the B key.

Then, press pound, enter your freq such as 1 4 6 * (for the decimal point) 9 
4 0, or you can just press pound again after the 4.  That way, you don't 
have to enter the final zero.  This saves a couple keystrokes for example 
147 MHz even.
