The battery only takes about six hours to charge, and it lasts a good  
while. It's a 1550 MA/H battery.

You can get a THF6A battery on steroids from www.batteriesamerica.com  
apparently: they sell one that's 3600 MA/H for around $60, which you  
can charge on the radio in about 12 hours, according to their  
Website. I thinkI wouldn't mind having one of those myself :)
