not very common unless you have the coax squashed by something.
Such as if you have a run of it running across your drive way and vehicles
drive across it on a regular basis...then yes, the center conducter will
migrate through...but its not a common problem with quality RG8X...which by
the way can go by many different names these days...9913, LMR400/600, heliax
and on and on.
The dialectric is generally speaking very thick and very heavy duty material
in most RG8 coax, so its pretty unlikely that the center conducter will go
through...never in my experience, and ive been using rg8 for about 12 years.
