another funny story about A M, just after i got my TS 2000, after listening
on the air band, i forgot to switch back to FM on the VHF ham band.
So, i was busily letting everyone know i was monitoring and couldn't figure
out why the repeater was coming back all distorted..and then a couple of
the, well, shall we say, less intuitive operators were telling me that there
must be something wrong with my radio because the audio was distorted and i
was dropping the repeater.
The interesting thing about that was that the repeater would actually key
from an A M signal.
At first though it just sounds like you are off frequency about 5K or so.
