Hi List,
Back in the late seventies, I had a TS520 Kenwood. When I went to tune it
up, the load control had to be all the way clockwise. I knew that was
wrong. I had a inverted V for 80 meters. It was a temporary installation
and I had one end fastened to a tire tool stuck in the ground next to the
mailbox. I went out to see what was wrong and I guess someone actually was
low enough to steal the tire tool. Seems like most people would have
grabbed it and turned the end of the antenna loose. They tied the antenna
to the neighbor's chain link fence. Several feet of the end of the antenna
was touching the fence. 73
