Well, if you can count clicks off the low beep for lowest setting in menus 
or something, the 271A is very useable, I programmed the hole thing with no 
sighted help at all and in fact, a sighted friend brought his over to me to 
program for him because he never had a 2 meter radio before and was having 
trouble and I got his 20 frequencies in memory for him in about 10 minutes. 
Mine is mobile and it's really a great radio and built very tough. Built in 
speaker on the front is a nice touch too, sounds incredibly good.

NOt familiar with this one.  Hope it's better than my 261a I
have in my van.  INaccessible in any sense of the word, no
way to independently (without sighted assistance) set ctcss
tone etc.  rEal pain in the backside.

Mine also has a problem with transmit whenever it gets warm.
