http://www.americanceliac.org/

Theresa A. Werner, M.Ed., J.D.

Special Education Outreach Coordinator

George Mason University

Andrea will be bringing us up to date on what the American Celiac
Disease Alliance has been working on and any news regarding the Food
Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act of 2004 that went into
effect January 1st of this year. With Andrea's guidance, this Bill got
before Congress signed into law in one short year. She helped all of us
pull together to lobby our Congressmen to make this happen.

Terry will do a presentation entitled: A Comparison: Section 504 of
the Rehabilitation Act,
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and the Individuals with
Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Terry will talk address the rights
we have as celiacs in regards to the Disabilities Act and how
legislation can help us. She will help you parents of celiac children
learn to use legislation already in place to your child's benefit in
public schools.

Both ladies will be happy to answer your questions and leave you with
good resources to work with. Be ready with specific questions for both
of them. They are very knowledgeable in what they do.

EVERYONE: Please bring a gluten free dish to share with everyone. The
new celiacs who come to the meetings especially enjoy trying new foods
that are good. Show off your favorite recipe or share a new mix that
you've discovered.

Please send me an email with any questions. Hope to see you there.

Betty
