today it has only reached 90 degrees but tomorrow they think it might go
over 100 again. So I am half asleep, listening to the radio this morning,
and on the news, they are telling us to turn our air conditioners up to 80
and even higher so it won't be hard on the poor power company. In the
politically correct world I've discovered I've grown up in, I couldn't
believe they were asking me to be even more uncomfortable and feel sorry for
the utility company. A few years back, we had a heat wave. the power
company started rolling black outs. why? they didn't want to run out of
electricity. I told my wife, I bet they get fined by the public utility
commission, the P U C, for this one because it isn't hot enough to
necessitate rolling black outs. Sure enough, a few months later, due to
citizen complaints about it, the P U C got into the fight, pulled a bunch of
records at the power company, found them to have lied to the public, and
fined them and told them never to do it again. Haha. Serves them right. I
ain't paying these ungodly high utility bills for nothing.

Phil.
